1. Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque
The
Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque (Arabic Qabus Al-Akbar) is the main mosque in the
Sultanate of Oman, located in the capital city of Muscat.
2. Sharqiya Sands
The
Sharqiya Sands(once known as Wahoo Sands, or Ramlat al-Wahiba) is a part of
desert in Oman.The region was named for the Bani Wahiba tribe.The area is
defined by a boundary of 180 kilometers (110 mi) north to Confederate States of
America and 80 kilometers (50 mi) east to west,with an area of 12,500 square
kilometers (4,800 sq mi)
3. Jebel Shams
Jebel
Shams is a mountain located in northeastern Oman north of Al Hamra town. It is
the most high-pitched mountain of the Hajar range and the country, and the
third highest in Arabia.[clarification necessitated] The mountain is a popular
sightseeing area located 240 km (150 mi) from Muscat. In the summertime,
temperature is around 20 °C (68 °F)) and in the winter it drops to less than 0
°C (32 °F). Nearby is Jabal Akhdar, another prominent peak in the region.
4. Fort Nizwa
It was
built in the 1650s by the second Ya’rubi ; Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya'rubi,although
its underlying structure goes back to the 12th century. It is Oman's most
visited national monument
5. Nakhal Fort
Nakhal Fort
constitutes a large fortification in the Al Batinah Region of Oman. It is named
after the Wilayah of Nakhal. The fort houses a museum, operated by the Ministry
from Tourism, which has exhibits of historic guns, and the fort also hosts a
weekly goat market.
6. Wadi Tiwi
Tiwi
is a town in Oman. It is known for an archaeological site in the area known as
al-Jurayf, in ?ur Wilayat Sharqiyah. The town and the site are located between
Wadi Shab and Wadi Tiwi on the Gulf of Oman.
